National Center for Scientific Research (NCSR) “Demokritos”
The National Center for Scientific Research (NCSR) “Demokritos” is the largest multidisciplinary research center in the country, with 60 years of contribution to science and to humanity. It is supervised by the General Secretariat of Research and Technology while maintaining its administrative and financial autonomy. Mission of N.C.S.R. “Demokritos” is: to conduct high-level basic and applied research, to develop the competitive know-how with the aim of promoting the social and economic development of the country, the provision of specialized high-tech services to public and private entities with the aim of serving the citizen, education of young scientists in new research areas and advanced technologies, the exploitation and diffusion of innovation in the country, the cooperation with Greek and international Universities and Research Centers with the aim of exchanging know-how and developing research synergies. E.K.E.F.E. “Demokritos” is made up of the following five (5) Institutes: Informatics & Telecommunications, Life Sciences & Applications, Nuclear & Radiological Sciences & Technology, Energy & Security, Institute of Temple Science & Nanotechnology, Institute of Nuclear & Particle Physics.
N.C.S.R./ IΙT (N.C.S.R. D) participates in the proposal through the Integrated Systems Laboratory (ISL). ISL focuses among other things on large-scale integration projects and develops a range of technologies related to: Recommendation systems and personalization, User positioning systems with RF, RFID, GPS, A-GPS and EGNOS wireless technologies in indoor and outdoor spaces , Services based on determining and knowing the user’s location through geo-information system (GIS) and mobile use, Virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR) systems, Robotic application systems, 3D modeling, simulation and animation, Gamification, Digital Immersive Culture , Security, Data Fusion, Multimodal Transport and Mobile Applications.
Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences
The Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences has a rich history dating back to the Interwar period, focusing on education and research in social and political sciences. The Department of Psychology was established in 1989, achieving administrative autonomy in 1995. Currently, its Teaching and Research Staff consists of 20 members. The main research activities related to this project are:
- Multisensory Perception: Experimental research on the perception of multisensory events, exploring the role of attention and the impact of individual senses on forming the final perception.
- Temporal Perception: Experimental research on the perception of simultaneity and duration, investigating the temporal window of integration for simple and complex multisensory events.
Leveraging experience in project coordination, fundamental research in Cognitive Science and particularly in multisensory perception, temporal processing, and attention resources utilization, Panteion is capable of providing publicity and dissemination activities, theoretical and experimental studies on the enhancement of cognitive processes and the improvement of multisensory perceptual ability and temporal processing, learning methodologies and evaluation of the results and technological achievements of the project.
Ερευνητικό Πανεπιστημιακό Ινστιτούτο Μελέτης & Αντιμετώπισης Γενετικών & Κακοήθων Νοσημάτων Παιδικής Ηλικίας (ΕΠΙΚΝΠΗ)
University Research Institute (URI) was founded in 1992 under the name Institute for the Study and Treatment of Genetic and Malignant Diseases in Childhood. It is connected to the Department of Medicine of the University of Athens and cooperates with the “Agia Sophia” Children’s Hospital and the private bodies-associations, which have already financed the installation of a special unit in the above nursing institution. It studies genetic, developmental, metabolic, endocrinological, neurological, behavioral and neoplastic diseases of childhood and adolescence and helps devise targeted patient management tailored to the precise disorders identified.
